Background

I’ve been creative for as long as I can remember, drawing, painting, and making paper toys from the age of three. I was proud to attend the National School of Arts in South Africa, where I specialised in drawing, painting, graphic design, and sculpture. Naturally, I pursued graphic and web design after school, earning my certification and starting my career as a junior graphic designer. With a strong drive to learn, I gained valuable mentorship from my seniors. After years working at creative and in-house agencies, I moved to London, where I became a design manager. Later, I embraced the challenge of opening my own agency, applying my experience to build something new.

As a company owner and founder, I gained a deep understanding of what makes an agency thrive, from competitor strategy analysis to budgeting, quoting, and invoicing. I led client pitches and account growth, building our client base from zero to over 97 active clients. I believe clear communication is key to strong client relationships, just as it is in any successful partnership.

Throughout my career, I have managed teams of up to 15 web and print designers, appointing managers, assistant team leaders, and senior designers to support their growth. I enjoy recruiting, training, and developing talent, and take pride in building balanced teams with complementary skills and personalities. Retaining great talent is a priority for me, and I focus on keeping team energy high. I believe that clear systems and incentives are essential to getting the best from a team. My hands-on approach ensures I fully understand the business, allowing me to implement processes that align with its needs.
